Diabetes Foot Care & Prevention
Daily diabetic foot care is essential to prevent infections, ulcers, and amputations caused by nerve damage (neuropathy) and poor circulation. Inspect feet daily for cuts, blisters, or red spots. Wash feet in warm (not hot) water daily, dry thoroughly (especially between toes), and apply lotion, but never between the toes. Always wear well-fitting shoes and socks, and avoid walking barefoot.
